Area students on dean’s lists

• Shawn Tremaine Smith of Valdosta was named to the spring 2009 dean’s list at Clayton State University in Morrow. Students must enroll in a minimum of nine credit hours and maintain a grade point average of 3.6 or higher to be eligible for the dean’s list.

• Amber Rickman, daughter of Barney and Pamela Rickman of Valdosta, was named to Berry College’s spring dean’s list.

• Jacob Walker was a spring graduate of Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus.

• Chancey O’Neal Smith participated in commencement exercises at Young Harris College and will receive a diploma after substantially completing all requirements for the Associate of Arts degree. She has also been named to the Young Harris College dean’s list for Spring Semester 2009. Students who achieve a 3.5 grade point average or better are eligible to be named to the list. Chancey is the daughter of Stan and Mary Smith of Woodbine and the granddaughter of Mary Hoffpavir of Clarkesville, Tenn., and Vince and Margaret Puleo of Valdosta.
