This Paul Leavy photo won the Associated Press Photograph of the Year in 1999. The Valdosta firefighter saved a worker who got stuck in a tall tree after getting sick. The worker was starting to pass out when the firefighter climbed up the tree and held onto to him until an aerial platform could aid in the rescue.
