Members of the engineering applications class at Brooks County High School had the opportunity to participate in a cross-curricular learning activity. The students received an introductory lesson on MIG (metal intert. gas) welding from agriculture (AG) mechanics instructor, Dave Bearden. Bearden covered subjects such as forms of welding, safety practices and correct welding procedures. Former AG mechanics and current engineer apps student, Colton Exum demonstrated those concepts to students. Following the lecture and demonstration, students had the opportunity to try their skills.
