VALDOSTA — After nine years of dental practice, Sherry Colvin has finally found a place where she feels like home while doing what she does best.
Dr. Sherry Colvin has recently started practice at Nu-Smile Family Dentistry. She was born in Cairo and still practices dentistry there as well.
However, she saw a great opportunity at Nu-Smile Family Dentistry due to its close location to Moody Air Force Base and welcoming staff.
Now she comes there every Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Sometimes she is available on Fridays as well.
“I love it here (at Nu-Smile). People are very friendly and everyone has made me feel so welcome,” she said.
Since July, when she started part time at Nu-Smile, Colvin has heard only positive feedback from patients, saying they feel very comfortable. This way, she said, their visit to the dentist is not necessarily a negative experience.
In 1996 Colvin graduated from Valdosta State University with a biology degree and then she went to the Medical College of Georgia, School of Dentistry, finishing in 2000. She has been practicing general dentistry ever since.
Her family of two children, ages 7 and 2, and a husband has been supportive through the years as well.
