VALDOSTA — Former Valdosta State offensive lineman Edmund Kugbila stepped into the NFL spotlight Saturday in Indianapolis.
Kugbila, who was the only Blazer invited to the NFL Combine, ran a 5.31 40-yard dash and managed 22 reps on the 225-pound bench press test during his testing at the Combine.
The most impressive stat for Kugbila was his 20-yard shuffle. Kugbila posted one of the top ten best times in the shuffle by an offensive lineman, with a time 4.65 seconds.
With his performance, Kugbila is now a projected fourth to seventh round draft pick in April's NFL Draft.
Kugbila has been in Indianapolis since Wednesday, meeting with teams and going through various interview-like talks with teams. He and other seniors from last year's national championship team will perform for NFL scouts March 18 at Pro Day in Valdosta.
