Kiley Rusen picked a good time to have a career breakout day for the Valdosta State softball team. Slugging her first-career home run and triple, while driving in six runs, Rusen led the charge as the Blazers routed Tampa 12-6 to advance to a second straight NCAA South Super Regional Tournament.

Blazers clinch spot in GSC title round
Valdosta State guaranteed itself a spot in the Gulf South Conference Baseball Tournament championship game while VSU pitcher Benjamin Weil set a new tournament record as the Blazers defeated West Alabama 2-1 in the winner's bracket game at Cole Field Tuesday evening.

David Dean Youth Camp coming May 28-31
The Valdosta State football David Dean Youth Camp will be held May 28-31 from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. and is available for boys and girls ages 5-13. The camp gives boys and girls chances to learn basic fundamentals of playing the game of football.

Blazers to host South Region, face ASU Friday
The road to the national championship in the South Region must come through the home of the defending Division II national champion Valdosta State Blazers.
