Edmund Kugbila has been chasing a dream, and on Saturday that dream turned to a reality.
Surrounded by his family, friends and former teammate Jake Thomas, Kugbila was selected in the fourth round with the 108th overall pick by the Carolina Panthers in Saturday’s NFL Draft, becoming the highest drafted player in Valdosta State football history. -
Blazers split doubleheader, win series with No. 2 Delta State
Valdosta State scored nine runs in the third inning, and routed Delta State — the No. 2 baseball team in Division II — 12-1 in the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader on Saturday.
The Blazers won two of three games against the Statesmen. Delta had only lost five games all season heading into the series. -

The Valdosta State softball team earned two Gulf South Conference wins on Saturday, sweeping a doubleheader against Delta State at Steel’s Diamond at Blazer Park.
