JENNINGS, Fla. —
The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement are investigating a homicide in Jennings, according to officials.
According to Hamilton County Sheriff Harrell Reid, a female body was found lying on 44th Street and SR 6 around 6:30 this morning by a worker from Suwannee Valley Electric Cooperative. Reid said a purse was found with the woman but isn't releasing the name or any other details about the victim at this time, but did state the case is being treated as a homicide.
The Lowndes County Sheriff's Office from Georgia and Third Circuit State's Attorney Office in Florida are also on scene investigating.
The investigation continues.
