VALDOSTA — The Valdosta State football team ended its four-game losing streak, dating back to the end of the 2011 season, with a commanding 62-14 win over Fort Valley State Saturday night at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium.

VSU quarterback Graham Craig, who started the game in the abscense for injured starter Cayden Cochran, tossed five touchdown passes and ran for another to lead the Blazers to the win. Wide receiver Gerald Ford caught three touchdown passes and freshman Cedric O'Neal ran for 131 yards to lead the Blazers.

The Blazer defense forced five turnovers, all of which were interceptions. Matt Pierce led the way with two, giving him three on the season.

Valdosta State faces Angelo State next Saturday at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

More on the Blazers' Saturday win will be available in Sunday's print and online edition of The Valdosta Daily Times.
