Thursday
• A motel guest was arrested in the 1900 block of West Hill Avenue at 2:17 a.m. for damaging the front glass window of a motel room, according to reports. Edward Wade Hewett, 37, of Valdosta, was charged with criminal trespass business property-vandalism, say reports.
Wednesday
• Police charged Sammie Lee Williams Jr., 25, of Valdosta, in the 1800 block of West Hill Avenue at 11:35 p.m. with probation violation, according to reports.
• Someone kicked in the door of a home in the 700 block of East Force Street between 7:30 .m. Wednesday and 12:30 a.m. Thursday, taking $515 in clothing and $1,000 in electronics, according to reports.
• A traffic stop for not wearing a seat belt led to charges after the driver fled the scene on foot, according to reports. Frankie Carl Thomas Jr., 41, of Valdosta, was charged with obstructing a law enforcement officer, seat belt / child restraint violation and habitual violator at 5:12 p.m. in the 300 block of Wells Street, according to reports.
• Police charged Kimberly J. Starling, 49, of Valdosta with synthetic narcotic-other offense and other offenses not covered at 7:41 p.m. in the 2000 block of Marion Street, according to reports.
• A man reported being hit in the head with a pipe by three unknown men in the 600 block of McDougal Street at 8:41 p.m., according to reports. The men then tried to take property from him, say reports.
• A Walther P22 handgun valued at $500 and a PlayStation 3 game machine worth $300 were taken in a burglary in the 900 block of McAfina Trail between 12:01 a.m. Monday and 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to reports.
• A newspaper stand valued at $150 was taken from the 1100 block of South Patterson Street between 12:01 a.m. and 3 p.m., according to reports.
• A woman faces charges after being stopped for a defective brake light at 3:07 p.m. in the 800 block of Lankford Drive, according to reports. Ashlei Renee Minatee, 22, of Hazlehurst, was charged with seat belt / child restraint violation, driver’s license violation and no insurance, say reports.
• Police charged Dorthy Smith, 48, of Valdosta, with shoplifting at 2:16 p.m. in the 300 block of Norman Drive, according to reports. Taken were $23 of clothes, say reports.
• A driver stopped for not using his turn signal fled the scene and faces charges, according to reports. Bernard Junior Dye II, 18, of Valdosta, was charged with interference of an officer and other traffic violations, say reports.
• Copper piping worth $501 was reported taken from a home in the 800 block of Pineview Drive between 5 p.m. March 21 and 2:09 p.m. Wednesday, according to reports.
• A burglary at a business in the 600 block of West Hill Avenue resulted in the loss of a $700 item between 7 p.m. Tuesday and 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, according to reports.
• A trailer with Georgia tag TL5548C was reported stolen from a home in the 200 block of Denmark Street between 5 p.m. Monday and 8:55 a.m. Wednesday, according to reports.
Tuesday
• An undisclosed amount of cash was taken from a business in the 1000 block of North St. Augustine Road at 1:40 p.m., according to reports.
• A police report dated Tuesday says Valdosta police were told by the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office about a possible sexual battery involving a 33-year-old man and a 15-year-old girl in the 1900 block of Briarwood Road which allegedly took place between June 15 and June 23.
