VALDOSTA —
Authorities haven’t ruled out the possibility that this past Saturday’s blaze at Club Vegas was intentionally set, and the preliminary report classifies the incident as an arson.
The Lowndes County Fire Department was dispatched to the nightclub, located on Highway 84 West, after receiving a tip from an anonymous caller at 11:44 a.m. Saturday.
The initial investigation suggested that the structure fire at the club was the result of criminal activity, stated a report from the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office.
While Fire Chief Richard Guyton stated that the fire was small, the initial report states that the fire inflicted some structural damage to the building.
The incident is under investigation by the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office.
