Helping sickle cell patients

Ossipe Temple No. 65 Grand Potentate Demarcus Marshall, with hat, presents Dr. Roger A. Vega with a check for $422 to assist sickle cell patients at the Lowndes County Health Department. The Temple raised over $1,600 dollars for health departments in Coffee, Tifton, Lowndes and Thomas counties through a fund-raiser hosted by Harvey's at Castle Park, with Joe and Jon Nijem being two of the major donors. Pictured is Sandee Simmons, a registered nurse, Marshall, Vega, and Temple members Chad Thomas and Michael Campbell at the check presentation Thursday at the Lowndes County Health Department.
