VALDOSTA — Authorities continue to investigate a reported sexual assault that occurred one week ago.
According to the Valdosta Police Department, a woman reported that she was walking in the 600 block of North Troup Street between the hours of 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 2, when four black males confronted her. The woman told police that the males pulled her into some bushes and sexually assaulted her, reports stated.
The victim, reports continued, was treated at and released from South Georgia Medical Center.
The victim did have some scratches and bruises on her from the encounter, police noted.
The victim is cooperating with police.
According to reports, an investigator is following up on any and all of the information she provided to the police.
