VALDOSTA — Scheduled sidewalk repairs in the City of Valdosta on March 22-24 have created the need to temporarily close some traffic lanes to enable the work to be safely completed. The left westbound lane on West Central Avenue, between N. Lee Street and N. Patterson Street, will be closed Monday, March 22, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., while contractors repair sidewalks. In addition, the right northbound lane on Ashley Street, from Valley Street to Magnolia Street, will be closed on Tuesday, March 23, and Wednesday, March 24, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., for handicap ramp installation.
The City of Valdosta Engineering Department urges motorists to drive with caution and be watchful of crews working in these areas.
