Kids PE Day at VSU set for Saturday

The Advisory Board of Valdosta State University's Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education will sponsor Kids PE Day on May 15 at the Physical Education Complex at VSU.

The focus of this event is on the health, fitness and wellness of children and what is going on their physical education programs in South Georgia. The board picked May for this event to coincide with Physical Education Month.

Exhibits, demonstrations and activities continue from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the PE Complex. Activities include an inflatable slide, bounce house, mountain climber, speed pitch, face painting and a clown.

Kids PE Day is for school-age children and their parents. Venders will be there selling T-shirts and food, but all activities are free.

Participating in the event will be the Randall Godfrey All-Star Football Camp, VSU Continuing Education, Pottery Bayou, Lowndes County Partnership for Health, Lowndes County Health Department, LODAC, Project Camp, South Georgia Regional Library, Lowndes County Sheriff's Office, Parks & Recreation, the American Heart Association, Greater Lowndes Coalition, Lowndes/Valdosta School Food Service Association, Sportime, Stalvey Pitching Cage, Tiny Bubbles, American Music, Behavioral Health Services, the Humane Society, Boys and Girls Club of Valdosta, McCurdy Golf Camp, Redmac Baseball Camps, Eye Associates of South Georgia and Lowndes County 911.
