Ray City holds barbeque cook-off
RAY CITY — More than a dozen teams tried their hands Saturday in this Berrien County town’s Barbecue Cook-Off and Car Show.
Judges tasted entries in five categories: Chicken, pork, Brunswick stew, open, and ribs.
The public gathered to buy plates and taste these dishes. Organizers sold raffle tickets for a used car. Trophies and prizes were awarded to the winners of the barbecue contest.

Sharolyn Ferguson and her family came out for the first time to see what the vendors had to offer. “We’re building a home,” Ferguson stated, “so we’re trying to get some ideas.”
