VALDOSTA —
America’s Second Harvest has issued a notice that the Disney volunteer program has reached its limit.
The program offered participants a free day at a Disney park in exchange for a certified day of volunteerism. The offer proved popular. So popular that it has reached Disney’s maximum numbers.
One million people have now either committed or completed their service through opportunities found at DisneyParks.com via the Volunteer Opportunity Portal, according to America’s Second Harvest.
The following system changes are now in effect:
• Volunteers can no longer search or sign up for opportunities at Disneyparks.com, therefore the function to post new opportunities in the system is no longer available.
• Now that the program has ended, volunteers who have not yet committed to an upcoming opportunity will no longer be able to sign up and qualify for a ticket.
• Volunteers who appear listed in “View Volunteer Sign-Ups” or who are on “Verify Attendance” lists have a ticket voucher reserved for them once they have completed their service and have it verified by a participating organization. As for cancellations, if a volunteer cancels or does not appear for the registered opportunity, that volunteer will no longer be eligible for a voucher for a theme park ticket nor will they be able to search and sign-up for an alternative opportunity to qualify for a voucher.
