VALDOSTA —
An estimated $11,000 in contraband was seized Tuesday evening by the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office, after officers discovered marijuana plants at a Meadow Run Circle residence, according to reports.
Investigators recovered seven marijuana plants, valued at $7,000, when they returned to the house with a search warrant. According to reports, the officers were originally at the residence to serve a warrant for a parole violation when they discovered the suspected contraband.
Along with the plants, officers found 370 grams of packaged marijuana, valued at $3,700, and roughly $460 cash, according to reports.
Investigators also said the raid netted a cache of items used in the production and distribution of marijuana, which included pots, potting soil, lights, fans, fertilizer, scales and marijuana packaging materials.
Antonious Wright and Tiffany Duke were arrested and charged with manufacturing marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of tools during commission of a crime and possession of a Schedule III Narcotic, according to reports. Wright was also charged with parole violation, reports stated.
Both Wright and Duke await arraignment at the Lowndes County Jail. Duke’s bond has been set at $35,000 while Wright has been denied bail, according to the sheriff's office.
