VALDOSTA —
Police searched Wednesday for a suspect who reportedly fled in a woman’s car after stabbing her Tuesday night.
The Valdosta Police Department released a photo of the suspect, 21-year-old Freddrick Tooley, and a stock image of the stolen car on Wednesday afternoon. The car was described as a burgundy, 2002 Chevrolet Impala, with a Georgia license plate number of DP32VQ.
At approximately 9 p.m. Tuesday, the suspect knocked at the back door of the 700 block Cummings Street residence and, after forcing his way in, demanded money from the two occupants, reports stated.
A scuffle ensued between the suspect and the occupants, which reportedly left one of the victims with a right-arm cut from the assailant’s knife.
The suspect fled the scene in the victim’s car before responders could arrive at the residence, according to Valdosta police reports.
Emergency-management services responded to the residence to treat the victim’s cut, while Valdosta police officers and a crime-lab technician were dispatched to investigate the incident.
Arrest warrants were signed and issued for Tooley, according to reports; the warrants listed charges of burglary, motor vehicle theft, simple battery, possession of a knife during the commission of a crime, and four counts of aggravated assault.
