Citizens are invited to take part in one of several Historical Valdosta tours planned for the City of Valdosta’s sesquicentennial year on Saturday. The tours will begin at 2 p.m. The tour bus will pick up any participants in the parking lot across from the Lowndes County Historical Society and Museum at 305 W. Central Ave.
Tours of Valdosta’s historic districts include the Fairview historical neighborhood, The Crescent, downtown Valdosta, the Patterson Street historical district, Valdosta State University, and Remerton Mill Village.
The historical tours, designed to give citizens an appreciation for their community heritage, will be offered every other month throughout the year and will feature different aspects of the city.
The Historical Valdosta tours are sponsored by First Baptist Church, Guardian Bank, Sessions Sign Company and Valdosta Area Tours.
