NASHVILLE — A Berrien County bride will appear tonight on cable TV’s “Say Yes to the Dress: Bridesmaids.”
The premise of the show focuses on brides-to-be searching for the perfect bridesmaid dress in Atlanta’s famous Bridals by Lori salon and the experience she shares with her bridesmaids and family in this special moment. “Say Yes to the Dress: Bridesmaids” is a spin off of the very popular TLC show, “Say Yes to the Dress,” which initially started at the world-famous Kleinfeld’s in New York and later included Atlanta.
Leslie (Watson) Stalvey , the bride, married her husband Beau Stalvey from Adel on March 10. It was her step-sister, Lesley Perkins, who convinced her to register via computer for “Say Yes to the Dress: Bridesmaids.”
“At that time, we had not attempted to look for bridesmaids dresses yet and thought it would be worth a shot to try signing up for the show,” said Stalvey.
Stalvey was shocked when she got the call from TLC just a few weeks after applying online.
“I never thought I would hear back from the show,” said Stalvey.
The network first interviewed Stalvey over the phone and, according to Stalvey, it was all downhill from there.
Stalvey had a total of 10 bridesmaids which included her sisters, Perkins and Kayla Watson, and her close friends and nieces.
“Filming the show was such an experience for me and my bridesmaids,” said Stalvey. “I have learned that adventures like these call for the right dynamics.”
Stalvey said she picked the perfect combination of family and friends to accompany her on her journey and be there for her on her big day.
“My bridesmaids are truly an amazing group of girls,” said Stalvey.
Until recently, Stalvey has lived in Nashville her entire life. She graduated from Berrien High School and attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and Valdosta State University. She now lives in Adel and is employed as a bookkeeper at Circlestone Country Club.
The episode is scheduled to broadcast at 9:30 p.m. today, The Learning Channel (TLC) network.
