A juvenile was left with five stab wounds Wednesday afternoon after an altercation that started on a Valdosta City School bus.
“It happened after school,” said Valdosta Police Department Cmdr. Brian Childress.
According to Childress, a 15-year-old student and a 14-year-old student had an altercation on a bus.
“There was some type of argument that occurred on the bus,” said Childress.
The two students exited the bus at their stops and each went to their own homes. The 15-year-old then went to the 14-year-old’s house and the two began fighting in the 1600 block of Fresno St.
“They both engaged in mutual combat,” said Childress.
During the fight, the 14-year-old pulled out a knife.
“The 14-year-old stabbed the 15-year-old five times,” said Childress.
The 15-year-old was transported to South Georgia Medical Center.
“The wounds were not life threatening,” said Childress.
The 14-year-old has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault, according to police.
The 15-year-old victim has not been charged, but according to Childress, charges could come.
“We’re not going to rule out additional charges,” said Childress.
