MOODY AIR FORCE BASE —
A captain assigned to the 347th Operations Support Squadron at Moody Air Force Base was found guilty of three offenses of the Uniform Code of Military Justice in a court-martial Saturday, June 2, 2012.
Captain Christopher Lammens was found guilty by a panel of officers of violating Article 120, rape, Article 120, carnal knowledge with a female over the age of 12 but under age 16, and Article 134, indecent acts with a female over the age of 12 but under age 16. He was acquitted of a charge of violation of Article 120, aggravated sexual contact.
Capt. Lammens, 36, was sentenced to 15 years confinement, total forfeiture of all pay and allowances, and dismissal from military service.
He was taken to Cook County Jail, where he will be held until he is transferred to a military facility.
Some of the offenses were committed while Capt. Lammens was assigned to Randolph AFB, Texas, and some offenses were committed while he was stationed at Moody AFB.
“The Air Force and Moody Air Force Base have a zero tolerance policy for sexual misconduct,” said Col. Billy Thompson, commander of the 23d Wing at Moody Air Force Base.
“We expect the highest personal and professional standards of our servicemen and women. When members do not meet those standards, the military justice system holds them accountable for their actions.”
