VALDOSTA —
Police are investigating a shooting that took place in the early morning hours Sunday in Valdosta, according to authorities.
The shooting took place around 2:23 a.m. at the Blanton Common apartment complex at 1505 Lankford Drive, according to Commander Brian Childress, Valdosta Police Department, and police reports.
Childress said two men and a woman were in the apartment at the time.
An unknown offender reportedly shot one of those in the apartment in the leg, police department reports say.
Two other victims reported battery and simple battery in a “physical altercation” with other unknown offenders, according to reports.
The shooting victim, a male, was taken to South Georgia Medical Center, but his injuries are not life-threatening, Childress said.
“At this point, the victims are not cooperating,” he said. “We feel there are some discrepancies in what they’re telling us.”
Childress said that, allegedly, the incident may have started because of an altercation that took place at The Grove apartments at 2107 Baytree Road.
There are no suspects in the shooting at this time, Childress said.
