VALDOSTA — Keep Lowndes Valdosta Beautiful recently held its 12th Annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon.
KLVB. has held this luncheon/awards ceremony for the past 12 years to recognize its volunteers and show appreciation for all of the hard work they do throughout the year, said Aaron Strickland, KLVB executive director.
KLVB has a number of annual events in which volunteers can participate. Some of these include Rivers Alive (Oct. 8, this year), Make-A-Difference Day/Hands on Georgia (Oct, 22, this year), Bring One For The Chipper (Christmas Tree recycling event held in January), and the Great American Cleanup.
This year’s awards and recipients were:
Media Person of the Year: Nikki Forman, City of Valdosta media coordinator.
Adopt-A-Road/Street Participant of the Year: Wild Adventures.
Beautiful Business of the Year: Ace Electric.
Helping Hands Awards: Nexxtep Technology, Inc.; Rob McMichen.
Special Recognition Awards: The Home Depot; Miller Hardware; Chick-Fil-A.
Student Organization of the Year: Sigma Nu Fraternity.
School Beautification Award: S. L. Mason Elementary School.
Chairman’s Award: Jessica Crowe, outgoing board member.
