Michael Jetter is interim conference center director

VALDOSTA — The Valdosta-Lowndes County Conference Center & Tourism Authority Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of long-time Valdosta resident and businessman, Michael Jetter as the Authority’s Interim Director.

Jetter brings more than 30 years of management, communications, and tourism related experience. Most recently, Jetter worked with business owners throughout South Georgia as a Certified Business Coach with ActionCOACH, recognized around the world as the #1 business coaching firm. In addition, his career has included radio broadcasting production, marketing and management; commercial print sales management and 11 years in hospitality and theme park management with Wild Adventures. These years of experience have prepared Jetter for the leadership opportunity ahead.

A Certified Travel Industry Specialist (CTIS) through Indiana University & Purdue University by the American Bus Association, Jetter is recognized as a travel professional, aware of the needs and challenges of the tour and travel industry. He is eager to begin discussion with Valdosta and Lowndes County hoteliers and attraction operators to explore new methods of showcasing our community as an even more appealing destination.

Jetter stated, “After serving on the board a number of years ago, I’ve watched the Rainwater Center and our tourism authority blossom. It is an honor and privilege to be able to continue the fine work of the past directors.”  Jetter went onto say, “The authority and conference center has an amazing, focused staff. I am truly excited to be in a position to help our community grow through this fine facility and through visitor’s taking the time to stop to put their feet up. I appreciate the boards trust in me for this important position”.
