Several qualified to run for office in neighboring communities

With early voting underway and election day on Tuesday, Nov. 3, candidates who qualified to have their names on the ballots in neighboring cities are counting down the days until registered voters decide whether or not their political aspirations will become a reality.



Those qualified are:

Brooks County

• City of Quitman Commissioner Chairman At Large — Curtis Pickles (incumbent)

• City of Quitman Commissioner District One, Post 1 — Nikki L. Bradley and Ronald E. Bryant (incumbent)

• City of Quitman Commissioner District 2, Post 3 — Virgil (Pete) Walker (incumbent)

• City of Barwick Mayor — Anthony Scott McCammon, Walt Yost and Ned Simmons (incumbent)

• City of Barwick Council Post 1 — Tammy Cone and Greg Parker

• City of Barwick Council Post 4 — Stephen A. Hobbs Sr. and I.J. McCann



Berrien County

• City of Ray City Mayor — Wesley Dorman Bennefield, Dolly Martin Dupree and Nina Harrell

• City of Ray City Council (vote for two) — J.D. Cone, Grady Green, Robert Mikell (incumbent), Buddy Purvis, Frank H. Studstill Jr. and Charles Wright

• City of Nashville Council Post 4 — Eric Gaither and Billy Retterbush (incumbent)

• City of Nashville Council Post 5 — Scott Stalnaker (incumbent)

• City of Nashville Council Post 6 — Michael Richbourg (incumbent)



Cook County

• City of Sparks Mayor — Floyd Kelly, Richard E. Webb and Samuel Wilson (incumbent)

• City of Sparks Council Post 1 — Gene Joiner and Thomas E. Skinner (incumbent)

• City of Sparks Council Post 2 — Jimmie Lamb and Debra Robinson (incumbent)

• City of Sparks Council Post 3 — Fenley Castleberry (incumbent) and Willie R. Wooten
