VALDOSTA — A man arrested for allegedly killing his wife has been formally charged by a grand jury in Lowndes County Superior Court.
Dondra Lavon Bullock, 32, was recently indicted for murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and two counts of cruelty to children in the second degree, according to indictment papers from the Southern Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office in Valdosta. Bullock is accused of fatally shooting his wife, Angela Bullock, 35, during a domestic dispute Sunday, Aug. 10.
At approximately 6:30 p.m., Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the couple’s residence, located at 6400 Towhee Circle, in reference to a 911 call from a man who said he had shot his wife, Lowndes County Sheriff’s Capt. Wanda Edwards previously told The Times. Dondra Bullock allegedly surrendered to deputies when they arrived on scene.
Angela Bullock was discovered inside the home with multiple gunshot wounds, Edwards said. She was immediately transported to South Georgia Medical Center where she later died from injuries sustained in the shooting.
The couple’s two children were in the residence at the time of the shooting but were not physically injured. Lowndes County Sheriff’s Lt. Stryde Jones said that the children were both under 10 years of age and have been handed over to a family member.
