QUITMAN — The discovery of a methamphetamine lab led to the arrests of two Brooks County residents Tuesday night.
Brooks County Sheriff Mike Dewey said that the sheriff’s office received a tip two months ago that a fully operational meth lab was being run at 3369 Adel Hwy, according to a press release.
“We received additional information from a confidential informant that confirmed the tip and resulted in the arrest of two individuals last night,” Dewey said.
Dewey added that the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office Hazardous Material Response Team responded to the residence to assist in the identification of the materials used to manufacture the meth.
The residents, Martin Anthony (Andy) Sapp, 26, and Josi Milon Yawn, 23, were arrested and charged with felony possession of products to manufacture methamphetamine and felony possession of methamphetamine, the release stated. The suspects are being held in Brooks County Jail.
