The Valdosta Daily Times — VALDOSTA — An anonymous tip led to the arrest of a Lowndes County couple on drug charges Thursday.
Around 4:57 p.m., Lowndes County Sheriff’s investigators responded to a residence at 3400 Clifton Road after receiving a narcotics complaint, said Lowndes County Sheriff Chris Prine.
Investigators searched the premises after receiving consent.
“Investigators recovered numerous drug-related objects, including cocaine and Schedule III narcotics,” Prine said. “Open syringes with an unknown substance in them were also recovered in a place where a 2-year-old and 3-year-old who live there could easily get to them.”
Prine could not indicate how much cocaine and Schedule III narcotics were found in the home.
The residents, Jason Lee Porter, 31, and Hope Leanne Porter, 25, were arrested and charged with felony possession of cocaine, possession of tools during the commission of a crime, possession of Schedule III narcotics and reckless conduct, Prine said.
The Division of Family and Children Services also responded to the home and have since placed the two children in the custody of their grandmother.
