LAKE PARK — Authorities continue to search for a man wanted for a recent robbery at Park Avenue Bank in Lake Park.
Lowndes County Sheriff’s Capt. Wanda Edwards said that the sheriff’s office still has not identified a definite suspect in the case.
“We are encouraging anyone from the public with information for their help,” Edwards said.
Around 3:50 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, a white male walked into the Park Avenue Bank branch at 1012 Lakes Boulevard and handed a teller a note reading, “This is a robbery,” Lowndes County Sheriff Chris Prine previously told The Times.
The offender did not display a weapon.
Bank employees reportedly cooperated with the offender, who fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money in an unknown direction, Prine said.
No one was injured during the robbery.
Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the scene shortly after the incident was reported.
Prine said that investigators covered the area in an attempt to locate the offender. However, they were unsuccessful.
Based on a recording of the robbery caught on Park Avenue Bank’s surveillance system, the suspect is between 5 feet 5 inches and 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing roughly 150 pounds. He was wearing a maroon fleece jacket, blue jeans, white shoes, a hood and sunglasses at the time of the robbery.
