Boy Scouts to host breakfast fund-raiser Friday

VALDOSTA — The Alapaha Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America and State Rep. Amy Carter, D-Valdosta, chairperson, invite the community to join them at the annual Duty to Country Breakfast fund-raiser.

This year’s event will feature local Scouts sharing their Scouting memories.

The Boy Scouts of America teaches area children citizenship, personal fitness, and character. It has been teaching ethics, values, and leadership for 100 years and helps prepare area youth to become good citizens and leaders in the community.

This Duty to Country Breakfast is a “not-to-be-missed” event as 2010 marks the 100th anniversary of Scouting in America. The breakfast will be hosted by Valwood School at 7:30 a.m. this Friday in the Godwin Holmes Art Center.

All those interested in attending, please contact Linda Miller at the Alapaha Area Council office at (229) 242-2331.
