VALDOSTA —
Customers were reportedly unaware that a robbery was taking place at the Kirkland’s store on Saint Augustine Road Friday at around 2:45 p.m., but were able to provide detectives with basic descriptions of two suspects seen fleeing the scene, according to the Valdosta Police Department.
One suspect went into the office, displayed a handgun, demanded money and left through the front door with an undisclosed amount of money, according to reports.
The suspect was seen leaving the area on foot in an easterly direction with another male, who authorities later confirmed had been in the store during the time of the robbery, reports stated.
Both suspects are described as being black males, approximately 5’8” to 5’9”, slender build, in their early to mid 20’s.
Valdosta Police Department officers, detectives, and Lowndes County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the area but as of Friday evening, have not located any suspects.
Detectives are working with crime scene personnel to determine if there is in- store camera evidence of the offender and other party, reports stated.
