VALDOSTA —
The Valdosta-Lowndes County Industrial Authority's regular meeting was uncharacteristically brief Tuesday evening at around 20 minutes in length.
"What can I say? We're efficient," Chairman Roy Copeland said about the brevity.
Public Relations and Marketing Manager Meghan Duke presented news of three initial designs concepts for a new VLCIA website featuring the new logo approved at the September meeting.
The website will feature a collection of photos of the community submitted by Valdosta State University and Moody Air Force Base, and existing industry
testimonials.
Allan Ricketts, Project/Existing Industry Manager, presented efforts to forge a stronger partnership with the Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce to improve support and services to businesses and industries to facilitate expansions, job creation and capital investment in the community.
The efforts include a community event slated for late November, Ricketts said.
Ricketts also presented information to the board about the visit of Chinese conglomerate Norinco to STEEDA autosports Monday morning and a variety of other Valdosta businesses.
The visitors toured the James H. Rainwater Center, the Crescent, the South Georgia Pecan Company, Smok'n Pig BBQ and Bas Bleu. The visitors have traveled to Athens, where they will spend the remainder of their stay.
