VALDOSTA —
Wild Adventures hopes two of its newest animal attractions will be a roaring success.
Kabul and Khandi are 4-month-old, brother and sister Indian tiger cubs. They arrived at the park earlier this month, said Micha Hogan, a Wild Adventures spokesperson.
Kabul is a white-striped Bengal tiger. Khandi is the more-traditional orange-striped tiger.
On Friday, May 28, Wild Adventures guests can see the tiger cubs as a supplement to the park’s new Tigers of India show. The show features a trainer with eight grown Bengal tigers. Audiences see the trainer work with the tigers.
“There’s no flaming hoops,” Hogan says. “This is more of an educational show.”
The cubs’ parents are Bhutan, a 6-year-old golden tabby Bengal tiger, and Tamara, a 10-year-old, white Bengal tiger, Hogan says.
The cubs are not a direct part of the show, but they will be kept in a special area for viewing from this weekend through July 4.
Visitors will be able to get a little closer to the cubs than they can the full-grown tigers, Hogan says. So people can watch these small tigers romp and play just like the 40-pound kittens they are.
