LAKELAND —
On Aug. 25, Lanier County Future Farmers of America (FFA) made a donation to the Lanier County Historical Society.
Four new bookshelves were placed in the Lanier County Historical Society for display purposes.
Brian Sirmans, vice president of the society, said, “We are so grateful to these students for their participation. These bookshelves were really a necessity for us, and the FFA always has a way of coming through when we need their help.”
The bookshelves were made by Ben Culpepper’s agricultural mechanics class. This was the first of many woodworking projects planned for Culpepper’s class this year.
FFA is a national organization of over 449,000 members preparing for leadership and careers in the science, business, and technology of agriculture. FFA is an integral part of the agricultural education program in public schools. The FFA mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.
Culpepper and Shannon Danforth are the FFA advisors at Lanier County High.
