VALDOSTA —
A strong winter weather system moving across the South has forced the cancellation of many passenger flights from Valdosta Regional Airport to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, according to an airline spokesman.
For today, one flight from Atlanta to Valdosta, flight 5053 at 8:45 p.m., has been cancelled, said Jarek Beem, spokesman for Atlantic Southeast Airlines, the only carrier serving the Valdosta airport. All of ASA’s flights out of Valdosta are to Atlanta. Flight 5295 from Valdosta to Atlanta at 6:02 p.m. has been cancelled as well, he said.
Monday, all of ASA’s flights from Atlanta to Valdosta have been cancelled, he said. Two Valdosta-to-Atlanta flights - numbers 5501 and 5034 - have been cancelled for Monday, while flight 5295 at 6:02 p.m. from Valdosta to Atlanta is still on as of now, Beem said.
For Tuesday, flight 5034 from Atlanta to Valdosta has been cancelled, as has the Valdosta-to-Atlanta flight 5501, he said.
Flight cancellations can be altered as the weather changes, and Beem urged ASA passengers to check www.delta.com for updates to flight schedules. ASA is a partner airline with Delta.
