The Revolution Continues

Puddleville Pedalers hosts second ride Saturday

VALDOSTA — Three Event Highlights

• Due to the response to its first ride, Puddleville Pedalers will host a second Family and Friends Fun Ride this weekend. About 40 people, from 4 years of age to 70, participated in the first ride on July 31. Riding at a slow pace, they covered about five miles, meandering through the neighborhoods of Adel.

• The one-hour bike ride is open to all ages. Kids must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. All riders under the age of 16 must wear a helmet.

• Those interested in a more challenging pace, as well as distance, are invited to stay and participate in an adult group ride immediately following the family event. This ride will cover about 25 miles, down M.J. Taylor Road and back.

Why You Should Participate

As a group, the Puddleville Pedalers is open to anyone from Adel and the surrounding areas who likes to cycle. It is not a highly organized cycling team, just a group of folks who like the activity as well as the opportunity to promote the benefits of this mode of transportation. This event and others like it in the future will serve to motivate people of all ages to be physically active ... A person does not have to have a real expensive bicycle in order to participate in this event. We welcome road, comfort, mountain, recumbent, children’s trailers and children’s cycles. Cycling is also good for our environment as it takes one form of power to keep bicycles going, and that is willpower.
