VALDOSTA —
Holiday shopping has begun, as families and friends walked the halls of the holiday decorated James H. Rainwater Conference Center buying items such as jewelry, ornaments, decorations, food, clothing, home goods and much more during the weekend’s 37th annual Merry Marketplace.
The annual event, hosted by the Valdosta Junior Service League (VJSL), has about 120 vendors from 28 cities across Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, Alabama and New York.
“It’s to kick off the Christmas season,” Jennifer Steedley, publicity co-chair, said. “It just gets you really excited about Thanksgiving, Christmas, shopping and all the things that are associated with the holiday season.”
The conference center has vendors set up throughout the center, as people can walk around sampling foods, talking with vendors and enjoying time with family and friends.
