Kendrick Lamar “K.J.” Johnson

VALDOSTA — Mr. Kendrick Lamar “K.J.” Johnson was given to this world on Oct. 10, 1995 and was called home on Jan. 10, 2013. Jeremiah 31:3 declares that “ with love and kindness have I drawn thee.”

Kendrick “K.J.” Johnson was the youngest son born to Kenneth Johnson Sr. and Jaquelyn Johnson in Lowndes County, Ga. Kendrick was a 10th grade student at Lowndes High School. He was also had a deep love and passion for sports where he was a member of the Lowndes High Vikings football, basketball, and track team. Although his loss has left a void, his bright smile, his humble spirit, and gifted talents will be truly missed by all. Kendrick was preceded in death by one sister: Kenya Johnson; his grandfather: Mr. Oscar Johnson; grandmother: Mrs. Frances Jones; grandfather: Rev. David Cooper; great grandparents: Mr. H.T. and Mamie Tooley, aunts: Mrs. Katie Cooper, Pastor Brenda Cooper-Daniels, Ella Cooper Carter, and Mrs. Ola Johnson; Machelle Brooklin-Fead, Mrs. Erma Jean Butler, and Mrs. Dorothy Lane Uncles:  Mr. Carl Johnson, Mr. John Johnson, Mr. Emmanuel Johnson, Mr. Phil Johnson, Mr. J.L. Johnson, Mr. Henry Johnson, Mr. Randy Johnson

Left to mourn his loss is his loving and devoted parents: Kenneth Johnson Sr. and Jacquelyn Johnson; three brothers: Ervin Robinson, Kenneth Johnson Jr., and Jeremiah Green all of Valdosta, Ga.; two sisters, Sierra Johnson of Savannah, and Kenyetta Johnson of Valdosta; one niece, Ashanti Johnson; two nephews, Kemarion Newsome and Tremaine Johnson; grandfather, Eddie W. Tooley; grandmother, Pastor Barbara (Alphonso) English; great grandmother, Mrs. Lois Williams, all of Valdosta; aunts: Janette Martin, Joan English, Tyricia Tooley, Freda Perry, Tesha Tooley, Barbara Jones, Gwendolyn Jones, Tradessa Jones, Stacy Roe, Keisha Tooley, Shawanda Moore, Jennifer Bailey, Lydia (Victor) Tooley-Whitlock, Lisa Williams, Keisha Moore, Arial Tooley, Shayla London-Breelove; great aunts, Mary Cooper, Ruth Cooper, Susie C. Kier, Patricia (Wayne) Adams, Barbara Davis, Mary J. Mark, Sally (Joe) Richardson, Bernice (Ricky) Griffin, Gloria Johnson, Margret (Bobby) Armstrong, Hattie M. Lockhart, Mary F. Matchett, Mary Sherman, Evangelist Hattie Wade, and Clora Alice; uncles: Joseph Martin, Larry (Nina) Jones, Sylvester Jones, Willie C. Jones, Jimmy (Lillie) Johnson, Dain Johnson, Herman Johnson, J.C. Johnson, Jerome Tooley, Antavious Robinson, Eddie A. Tooley, Errin Tooley, Christoper Tooley, Jessie Kincaid, Javon Moore David Moore Jr.; godmother, Mrs. Felita Townsend; godfather: Mr. James Spates III god brothers: Andra and Antonio Townsend and Dexter Smith; god sisters, Terineca Parker, Ashley Brantley, Destiny Newsome, Jessica McKeithen, and Jasmine Grier; special cousin, Artis Thomas IV and the Lowndes High School Football, basketball, and track teams; and a hosts of sorrowing relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Union Cathedral. Bishop Wade S. McCrae is the Pastor and will be officiating. Burial to follow at the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Final rites were entrusted to Harrington Funeral Home.
