Betty Holcomb Browning

VALDOSTA — Betty Holcomb Browning, 67, of Lake Park, Ga., died Monday, April 16, 2012, at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Fla. She was born on Aug. 30, 1944, in Quitman and had lived in this area for many years. Mrs. Browning was a member of Francis Lake Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, feeding the birds, growing her flowers and cooking. Mrs. Browning loved spending time with her family and loved people.

Survivors include her husband, Clamon Browning of Lake Park; three daughters and son-in-law, Lesia Adams of Lake Park, Susan Bennett of Eustis, Fla., Krista and Lance Spangler of Valdosta; son and daughter-in-law, Clay and Emily Browning of Valdosta; her grandchildren, Chris Adams, Ashton NeSmith, Gretchen Bennett, Gregory Bennett, Kaleigh Spangler, Charleigh Spangler and Gavin Browning; great-grandchildren, Desiree NeSmith, Kelsey NeSmith, Landon Hunter, Kassie Bennett and Gage Bennett; sisters and brother-in-law, Charlotte Cloud of Lake Park, Sue and David Moxley of Lake Park; her brother, Jimmy Rogers of St. Albans, W.Va., sister and brother-in-law, Aloma and Randy Vose of Townsend, Mont.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlos and Fannie Lou Rogers of Barney; brother, Billy Rogers of Quincy, Fla.; two sisters, Lynette Griffith Farran of Barefoot Bay, Fla., and Willene Rogers Holcomb.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 19, 2012, at Francis Lake Baptist Church with the Rev. Eldridge Lyons and the Rev. John Page officiating. A private family committal will be held in Morrison Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
