Franklin D. “Frank” Adkins

-- — Franklin D. “Frank” Adkins, 78, of Valdosta, formerly of Wakeman, Ohio, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Louis Smith Memorial Hospital in Lakeland after a short illness.

He was born September 13, 1933, in Huntsville, Tenn.

He is preceded in death by his parents Dewey and Rena (Jeffers) Adkins, and a sister Loretha Staley.

He was an Assembly Worker with the Ford Motor Company for over 30 years and a member of the UAW Association. Mr. Adkins was a Veteran of the US Army, serving as a Medical Technician.

Survivors include his wife Betty J. Adkins of Valdosta; daughters and sons-in-law, Shelia J. and Max Ramon of Biloxi, MS; Andrea J. and Kenneth Gill of Ozark, AL; sons Edwin Frank Adkins of Wakeman, Ohio and Ethan Aaron Adkins of Valdosta; grandchildren, Crystal Stone, Amanda Andrews, David Adkins, Matthew Adkins, Heather Ramon, Brittany Gill and Laurin Ramon; great grandchildren, Kenneth James Ronez, Chance Adkins and Sophia Grace Stanton; two sisters, Brenda Sue D’oliveria of N.C., Phyllis Carmichael of Ohio; two brothers Cecil Morgan and Margaret Adkins of Ohio and Woodrow Adkins of Ohio, along with a number of nieces and nephews.

 Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, June 25, 2012 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services.
