Mrs. Shirley Newbern, 68, of Sparks passed away Friday September 14, 2012 at Cook Medical Center in Adel. She was born to the late Burton Eugene “Gene” and Hazel Oma Shierling Allen in Sparks where she has lived all of her life. Mrs. Newbern was a member of the First Assembly of God of Adel and had retired from Colqiuitt EMC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Malcom Newbern and is survived by two sons and daughter-in-laws: Alan and Lona Newbern; Colin and Leah Newbern all of Sparks; one daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Seth Langve of Billings, Montana; four grandchildren: Halle Newbern, Evan Cannard and Bailey Cannard all of Sparks and Savannah Langve of Billings, Montana along with numerous cousins.
The funeral service will be held Monday; September 17, 2012 at 11 a.m. at The First Assembly of God in Adel. Interment will follow in the Sparks City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 16, 2012 from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave..Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.boonefunerals.com.
