Monica M. Arnejo, 84, of Valdosta, passed away suddenly on Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012, at Langdale Hospice House after a short illness.
She was born May 5, 1928 in Sogod, Cebu, Philippines, a daughter of the late Cruz and Juana Maquilan Arnejo. Ms. Arnejo moved to Valdosta in 2002 to be closer to her daughter and son-in-law, Aurora and Mike Linn. She attended St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, was an avid gardener and enjoyed working outdoors.
Ms. Arnejo is survived by six children, Liliosa Dalogdog of Washington State, Julio Dagatan of the Philippines, Aurora and husband Mike Linn of Valdosta, Rogelio and wife Babielin Olarte of the Philippines, Fe Rizalina Macalagay of the Philippines, and Climon Adams of the Philippines; granddaughters, Stephanie Wetherington of Valdosta, and Melissa and husband Anthony Anderson of San Antonio, Texas; great-grandchildren, Celeste Wetherington, Joe Wetherington, Stella Marquez, Alejandro Marquez, and Collin Anderson, all of Valdosta; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren in the Philippines.
Funeral service for Ms. Arnejo will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, at the Chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. A Rosary service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with visitation to follow until 6 p.m.
