Toller Reynae Henderson, of 2415 Dasher Johnson Rd. demised Oct. 24, 2012 at home in the arms of her loving husband.
Mrs. Henderson was born July 3, 1964 in Clovis, New Mexico to Mrs. Cora Felton Reid and the late Ray Felton.
She graduated from Clovis High School in New Mexico in 1982. She received her nursing degree from Valdosta Technical College and was employed by South Georgia Medical Center. She worked on the Bridge Unit, (a suicide crises center). Reynae was credited for helping save many lives through her skillful techniques while working at the center. Later, she worked as a dialysis nurse until she took ill. Working to help people was always her passion. She also was a gifted artist who brought her sketches to life. She was a member of Union Cathedral and loved to serve the Lord.
Shortly after moving to Valdosta, she met the love of her life, Montinez Cortez Henderson. Mrs. Henderson married her beloved husband on June 29, 1985. Montinez was married to “Pee Wee” until her untimely death.
Survivors include a devoted and adoring husband of 27 years of marriage and a total of 30 years as a blissful couple, Montinez Henderson; a loving mother, Cora Felton Reid and her husband George Henry Reid; siblings, Sandra Houston (Ray), Rialto, Calif., Clara Archie-Norwood (Eric), Rialto, Calif., Jennifer McCoy (Calvin), Atlanta, Cynthia Wheeler (Leonard Sr.), Abilene, Texas, Ray Earl Felton, Houston, Texas, Loran Johnson Jr., Valdosta, Bridgett Smith (Kenneth Sr.), West Palm Beach, Fla., Kimberly Gordon (Louis), Valdosta, Lynn Mitchell-Williams (Willie), Valdosta; father and mother-in-law, Lee Curry Henderson (Geralene), Atlanta, Darthula Henderson, Valdosta; brother and sisters-in-law, Fentress Dion Henderson (Glenda), Atlanta, Yvette Medina Miller, Valdosta, Lee Terrell Henderson, Atlanta, Cathy Y. Lewis (Thaddeus), Atlanta; and one special brother, Eric Brooks, Tulsa, Okla.; uncles and aunts: Hazel Peoples, Albuquerque, N.M., John Henry Spencer (Mary), Valdosta, Doris Davis, Valdosta, George Spencer (Pearlie), Herbert Spencer (Ethel), Mary Bridges (Frederick), Valdosta, Martha Homer (Willie James), Valdosta, Linda Dotson, Valdosta, Eishnonia Jackson, Valdosta, Loretta McCroskey, Atlanta, Raymond Morrison (Ophilia), Miami, Fla., James L. Morrison (Fannie), Valdosta. Reynae is also survived by a special niece and god daughter, Jodeci Lynn Mitchell and four special cousins, Gloria Holder, Dorothy Brown, Aaron Young, and Joe McPherson Hunter. Other survivors include a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012 at Union Cathedral. Bishop Wade S. McCrae is pastor and will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Family hour will be held from 4-6 p.m. this evening at Union Cathedral. — McCrae & Godfrey Mortuary
