Mr. Neill Wood, 74, of Sparks, passed away at South Georgia Medical Center Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012. Mr. Wood was born in Tifton, Ga. on Oct. 6, 1938 to the late Thomas Daniel and Sarah Whitehurst Wood. He lived most of his life in Cook county and was of the Methodist faith. Mr. Wood was retired from the Del-Cook Lumber Company.
He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Shane and Wendy Wood of Valdosta; Marty and Christina Wood of Marietta, Mitch Renfroe of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; one daughter, Tammy Zacks of Red Bank, N.J.; grandchildren, Mitchell, Mason and Maddox Wood all of Valdosta; Callie and Ford Zacks of Red Bank, N.J.; a brother and sister-in-law, Ben and Susan Wood of Jacksonville, Fla.; one sister, Sally Lovett of Adel; and sister-in-law, Mildred Wood of Adel. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dan Wood and Frank Wood and one sister, Mary Jane Hayes.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. today, Nov. 6, 2012 at the Sparks City Cemetery with the Rev. Dilliard Ensley officiating. Interment will follow in the Sparks City Cemetery. Visitation was held Monday, Nov. 5, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave., Adel.
