VALDOSTA —
John Burton Lane, 85, of Quitman, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at the Presbyterian Home in Quitman. Mr. Lane was born Feb. 22, 1927, to the late John and Roberta Carter Lane Sr. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Lane of Quitman; one son, Greg Lane of Quitman; two daughters, Karen Lane Baker of Quitman, and Phyllis Lane Graham of Clyattville; six grandchildren, Brandon Deriso, Michael Deriso, Anthony Jasinski, Heather Regina Jasinski, Daniel Graham, and Christopher Graham; and one sister, Nadine Russell of Valdosta.
Graveside service will be held Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Columbia Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Donnie Waldrop and Greg Lane officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Maxwell-Miller Funeral Home.
