Services for Imogene Speer Bass, 73, of Thomasville, are at 10:30 a.m. on Monday Aug. 20, 2012 at Boston Baptist Church where she was a member. The Rev. Tim Phillips will officiate and interment will be at Boston Cemetery. Mrs. Bass died Aug. 18, 2012 at Archbold Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born Aug. 22, 1938 in Valdosta, Ga. she was the daughter of the late Emory Speer and Mamie Lou Coody Speer. On June 2, 1956 in Valdosta, Ga. she married Fred W. Bass who survives. Mrs. Bass was retired from Peoples Banking Company and Commercial Bank Boston Branch after 31 years of service.
Other survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Susan Bass Hale (Curtis) of Rydal, Ga., son, Jeffrey Bass (Debra A.) of Boston, Ga., grandchildren, Colby Brinson (Candice), Caleb Kennedy and Landon Bass, great grandchildren, Emilee Lanier Brinson and Kaylee Ruth Brinson, sisters, Faye Phillips, Betty Collins (Newton), Laverne Dandrea (Pete), brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ed Bass (Carolyn) and Sherry Wadsworth (Preston) and numerous nieces and nephews which she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by a brother, Dewayne Speer, a sister, Virginia Johnson and a brother-in-law, Clarence Jr. Phillips.
