Valdosta

James 'Jim' Botts

James "Jim" Botts, 60 of Valdosta, passed away Friday, Nov. 25, 2005, at South Georgia Medical Center after a brief illness.

He was born in Alabama and had lived in Valdosta for the past 10 years. Mr. Botts served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He worked in the sales business and was Baptist by faith. He was preceded in death by his father, Russel Bickel and brother, Haward Botts.

Survivors include his wife, Myra Hall of Valdosta; two daughters and son-in-law, Lauri and Mike Timm of La Porte, Ind., Teressa Botts of Columbus; two sons, Sean Birge of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Jamie Botts of Atlanta; his mother, Ethel Bickel of Valdosta; seven grandchildren and two nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Sympathy may be expressed online at www.musicfuneralservices.com. -- Music Funeral Services, Valdosta.



Homerville

James William

'J.W.' Campbell

Mr. James William "J. W." Campbell, 81, passed away, Friday, Nov. 25, 2005 at his residence following an extended illness.

A native of Bullock County, he had lived in Clinch County since 1947. He was a member of the Homerville First Baptist Church where he served as deacon, choir member, R. A. Leader and was in the Senior Men's Sunday School Class. He was retired lineman for Slash Pine EMC and was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during World War II. He was the son of the late Eugene W. Campbell and Annie Lou Simmons Campbell.

Survivors are his wife of 57 years, Jane Milre Godwin Campbell, Homerville; two daughters, Florence Nipper, Homerville and Charlotte Campbell, Albany; two sons, James Robbin Campbell and Craig Campbell, both of Brunswick; one sister, Juanita Pylant, Statesboro; one brother, Charlie Campbell, Salters, S.C.; 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and several other relatives.

Services for Mr. Campbell will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28, 2005, from the Homerville First Baptist Church. Internment will be in the New Pine Grove Church Cemetery. Mr. Campbell will remain at the funeral home where the family will receive friends tonight from 6 till 9 p.m. Mr. Campbell will be carried to the church one hour prior to the services. Donations may be made the Odyssey Health Care, 1001 Williams St., Valdosta, Ga., 31601. -- Roundtree Funeral Home of Homerville.
