STATENVILLE

Elizaneth 'Liz' Staten

Elizabeth "Liz" Staten, 77, of Statenville passed away Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005.

She was born March 31, 1928, to the late William and Zelma Harden. Mrs. Staten lived most of her life in Statenville, where she was an active member at Statenville Church of God. She was a volunteer at Echols County School and spent a great deal of time as a seamstress and working on crafts. Mrs. Staten retired after 30 years of service with the Georgia Forestry Department. She was mother and grandmother to everyone for generations and was a devoted Atlanta Braves fan. Mrs. Staten was preceded in death by her husband, General Foch Staten, in January of this year. She was also preceded in death by her son, Johnny Henderson, and his father, Ernest Henderson, and a sister, Joyce Richardson.

Survivors include one brother, William Horace Harden Jr., Middleburg, Fla.; four sisters, Doris Tiefenbach of Michigan, Carolyn Tucker of Miss., Frankie Tidwell of Valdosta and Ruth Palmer, Tallahassee, Fla.; a special great-nephew Spencer Bailey, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005, at Statenville Church of God. Interment will follow in Statenville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. this evening at Harry T. Reid Funeral Home. -- Harry T. Reid Funeral Home, Jasper, Fla.



VALDOSTA

Keegan Kade Moore

Keegan Kade Moore, of Valdosta passed away Thursday, Nov. 30, 2005, in South Georgia Medical Center. He was the infant son of Amanda Roe and Jonathan Moore.

Survivors include his sister, Alexis Moore of Valdosta; three brothers, Cameron Moore, Kaleb Moore, Koby Moore, all of Valdosta; maternal grandparentsPat and Curtis Phillips; paternal grandparents, Schyla and Bear Spikes; uncles, Patrick Roe, Pearson; Daniel Spikes, Lakeland; aunts and uncles, Ashlie and Michael Spikes, Bridget and Corey Spikes, Lakeland; cousins, Leigha Collie, Cotton Collie, Grant Allen Spikes, Tailor Chaney, Brianna Corbitt, and Ben Corbitt, all of Lakeland.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005, in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial following in Guthrie Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon-2 p.m. prior to the service Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005.

Mary Frances Powell

Mrs. Mary Frances Powell, 73, of 1325 Wesley Lane, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005 at Crestwood Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, 2005 at St. James Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. T.J. Haynes, pastor, officiating. Miss Paula Davis, 41, of Alapaha, died Monday, Nov. 28, 2005, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, 2005, at New Home Church of God in Alapaha, Bishop Elbert West officiating. Burial will follow in West Fletcher Cemetery in Alapaha.
